UPN 2020 Memphis TN

UPN 2021 INDY is postponed until 2022

We’re sorry to have to report that Drews Parts in Anderson, Indiana has to postpone UPN 2021, until next year.

Kelly Drews posted the following announcement in January, 2021:

“After discussing with the power to be on the systems, we don’t see how we can have a successful turnout with all the restrictions and uncertainty with the world as we know it. So I am sorry to say we will push back UPN to 2022, and it will still be in Indy! Any questions or comments feel free to express them.”

You can contact Kelly at https://www.drewsparts.com.

SEE YOU IN INDY IN 2022!

Until we meet again, may God bless you as He has blessed me.

Elvis Aaron Presley
The King of Rock’n’Roll

To our UPN family:

It is with heavy hearts that we must break the news that UPN 2020 is officially canceled. Due to uncertainties surrounding coronavirus and subsequent travel restrictions, 3 out of 4 current sponsors and registrants are prevented from attending this June. Even the prospect of postponing UPN until the fall is clouded with doubt regarding a possible resurgence of the virus along with continued travel restrictions and industry conflicts. Most are in favor of canceling this year’s event and looking forward to UPN 2021.

We have been closely watching the response to the spread of coronavirus and are impressed at how many have rallied to fight it. We waited an extended period of time to see whether UPN 2020 might be able to hold on should the disposition of the virus change for the better. We want each of you to know that canceling UPN was not an easy decision to make, and we are as disappointed as you are.

The spirit of UPN is such a unique experience that as of today, we have 32 sponsors who have generously given their time, money and resources to help us make UPN 2020 what promised to be an event to remember. They are listed below, and we encourage everyone to thank them for their dedication to the Used Parts Network.

Wishing you health and happiness until we meet again!

Rebecca, Andy and everyone at Flint Hydraulics

Y’all come!

From Beale Street to barbecue, from Graceland to golf, from Peabody ducks to pandas at the Zoo, Memphis has something for everyone. This is a UPN that you will NOT want to miss!

UPN 2020 Itinerary

Thursday, June 11 – Saturday June 13

Thursday, June 11

9 a – 2 p     UPN 2020 Golf Tournament & lunch at Mirimichi, Tennessee’s #1 rated public golf course. The name “Mirimichi” is a native-American word that means “place of happy retreat,” which is why course founder and world-renowned entertainer Justin Timberlake chose it. Situated on the lush banks of the mighty Mississippi River, with deep pit bunkers, elevated greens and swathes of native grassland, waterfalls and meandering creeks, this award winning course offers more than 7,400 yards of challenging, championship-level golf in beautiful and tranquil surroundings.

10 a – 4 p   “Walkin’ in Memphis” Tour of downtown attractions like Memphis Rock’n’Soul Museum, Memphis Music Hall of Fame, and the South Main Historic District, an eclectic neighborhood where converted early-1900s warehouses are home to eateries, brewpubs, boutiques, the Memphis Farmer’s Market and treasures like the Blues Hall of Fame and the National Civil Rights Museum. From there, take the trolley to Bass Pro Shop at The Pyramid with its indoor cypress swamp teeming with fish and wildlife. You can shop, eat, play a game of bowling at the “underwater” 13-lane Fishbowl, practice your sharp shooting at the pistol and archery range, and catch a ride on the nation’s tallest free-standing elevator to the Lookout over the Mississippi River. (***Our “Walkin’ in Memphis” tour is a self-guided, set-your-own pace event. We will provide tickets to some of the area attractions. Everything listed here – and more – is within EASY walking or trolley-ride distance of The Peabody.***)

4:30 p – 6:30 p    Reception at world-famous Charles Vergos Rendezvous, the restaurant that singlehandedly created an entire barbecue category: Memphis-style dry rubbed ribs. We’ll meet in the upstairs turn-of-the century saloon. Afterwards, head downstairs for barbecue, or back over to The Peabody for their Rooftop Party, or just three blocks away to America’s most iconic boulevard, Beale Street, to enjoy a night in the Home of the Blues, Soul & Rock’n’Roll.

Friday, June 12

9 a – 2 p    Graceland Tour and lunch at Elvis’ Graceland Mansion & Museums. The King’s estate is the most famous home in America after The White House, and there is so much more to see than “just” the mansion itself. Elvis Presley’s Memphis features extensive archives including his amazing collection of gold and platinum records, his stunning costumes and clothing, memorabilia from his movies, artifacts and photos from his public and private life. We’ll tour the Auto Museum which includes his iconic Pink Cadillac, his Hollywood Backlot, and Elvis’ jets. Then, we’ll dine on The King’s favorite home cookin’ at the brand new Graceland Exhibition Center, with catering provided by Vernon’s Smokehouse (named for his dad).

4:30 p – 6:30 p   Reception and UPN 2020 Duck March at The Peabody Hotel. Our Lucky Duck sponsors will serve as honorary Duck Masters during this evening’s historic Duck March ceremony. Our reception will be held in the lavish Continental Ballroom on the Mezzanine Level, where Elvis attended his 1953 high school prom. The ballroom overlooks The Peabody’s Grand Lobby, site of the internationally famous Duck March, a time-honored tradition that began nearly 90 years ago.

Saturday, June 13

9 a – 2 p   Tours of your UPN 2020 host, Flint Hydraulics, Inc. and UPN 2020 sponsor Blumaq Corp. – we’re neighbors! Come see our operations, and afterwards we’ll treat you to a catered, Southern-style picnic lunch.

5 p – 6 p    Rooftop Reception on The Peabody Plantation Rooftop next to the “Penthouse” and Royal Duck Palace. The $200,000 structure is made of marble and glass and features its own fountain with a bronze duck spitting water. It also includes a small house – a replica of the hotel – where the ducks nest at night, complete with a soft, grassy front yard.

6 p – 9 p    Grand Finale Banquet Dinner in the Skyway Room of The Peabody Hotel, with special entertainment and our “Shave Dave” Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital Fundraiser. Located just inside the Peabody Plantation Rooftop, the stunning Skyway Room merges 1930s art deco charm with breathtaking views of the Mississippi River. A very special guest will arrive to entertain during dinner.

About our fundraiserSaint Jude’s Hospital in Memphis treats childhood cancer and operates almost exclusively on private donations; families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food – “because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.” Our own Dave Weller of Weller Tractor Salvage has made a huge donation: we’ll sell raffle tickets for the chance to shave Dave’s head for the children of Saint Jude’s. Thank you, Dave!

“Wish we could have seen you at UPN 2020 in Memphis!”
